Remove politicians transport perks to they MUST use public transport to get to work....and their families MUST also use it to do the shopping, get to school, weekend sports engagements, the LOT. You'd see change almost immediately!
Make public transport free, it would encourage people to use a more eco friendly way to get around and reduce the traffic on the road, thus reducing need to be spent upgrading the road systems. Expensive? Yes, very. But the long term benefits? Huge.
The myzone system is just a marketing campign to increase the cost of travel for people who live close to the city and already use public transport!
How can the government play a bigger role in consulting with the public when making decisions around transport? Is the general public left out at the moment?
It doesn't look like the queue that stretched for 300m and 20 mins to simply get on a bus @ Wynyard - nor the next 30 mins I sat on the bus in traffic due to a lack of bus lanes. Why can the NSW govt feel they can put up fares for such a bad service?
Totally agree. The new myzone ticktes haven't anything to improve it. Maybe the govt should have spent money on improved services rather than rebranding a ticket!
